New member, new voices: updates from the latest RREUSE General Assembly

On April 8, the RREUSE network convened in Brussels for its General Assembly, a regular occasion for decision-making, reflection, and planning. This spring’s gathering included several governance updates and welcomed a new associate member to our vibrant network!

Welcoming ARNO from North Macedonia

The General Assembly unanimously approved the associate membership of ARNO, an organisation for social innovation based in Skopje. Since 2013, ARNO has operated at the intersection of the social and circular economy, focusing on reuse, repair, and waste reduction.

ARNO has just opened Skopje’s first Repair Centre, offering textiles, electronics, furniture, and more services. They will also host workshops and lively community events focused on sustainable consumption. Their hands-on, community-driven take on the circular economy makes them a valuable addition to the RREUSE network.

New appointments for the Board of Directors

Members unanimously voted to approve several changes to the Board of Directors:

  • Maarten Landuyt, Policy Officer for Circular Economy & Reuse, replaces Eva Verraes as HERW!N, representative on the Board.
  • Ana Camba Martín, Director at AERESS, joins the Board, succeeding Carmen Aja Ruiz.
  • Thomas Ahlmann, Director of Fairwertung, was confirmed as Vice President until the next Board mandate.

Additionally, Zuzana Kuberová, Director of Reuse Federace, and Marin Zver, Project Coordinator at Center Ponovne Uporabe, were appointed as new Board members, representing organisations from countries that were previously unrepresented at the Board level. Their addition enriches the geographic diversity of our network’s governance, making it more vibrant and inclusive!

Looking ahead

The General Assembly also approved the 2025 work plan, which outlines the direction for the coming year, including priorities on policy, visibility, and supporting members’ work across Europe.

As the network continues to grow, so does its reach, representation, and shared ambition. We look forward to collaborating on the next steps together!
