Creation Mill is a Community Interest Company (C.I.C) being set up to provide workshops, training and short courses in all things textiles. Langholm has a rich textile history, at the height of its success there were over 15 working textile mills producing high quality wool and tweed fabrics. Creation Mill C.I.C will hope to inspire the next generation to take interest in the local industry, working with local schools, colleges, and the job centre. The programme of workshops and courses will provide a wide range of skills including weaving, darning and product creation. Creation Mill C.I.C will also provide flexible meeting/workshop spaces, affordable maker spaces, a scrap store and tool library and tell a story of the textile history of Langholm.
