The Diakonie Michaelshoven has been helping people who need support in Cologne and the region since 1950. They have over 3,000 employees and 650 volunteers and provide help in more than 200 facilities to children and adolescents, people with disabilities, seniors as well as people who face substantial difficulties in life. People who would like to seek work or training opportunities receive new professional perspectives from them. Their goal: They want everyone to be able to live or work independently or find a way out of a crisis. The Diakonie Michaelshoven also operates six fairstores in Cologne that sells secondhand products at affordable prices and also employ people with severe disabilities as well as people who have been in a long period of unemployment.
