Ebike Freedom CIC, is a Glasgow-based organization currently awarded the Cycling Friendly Community Silver Award from Cycling Scotland for their efforts in fostering a cycle-friendly environment and providing affordable and sustainable transportation solutions. Their primary focus is on refurbishing unwanted ebikes and etrikes, and redistributing them to those in need, including ethnic minorities, new immigrants, unemployed persons, and disabled persons. In the year 2022/2023, they have donated more than 50 used bikes to the needy, provided free interest ebike loans to disadvantaged individuals (11 cases), offered maintenance classes to low-income youth (20 sessions), and customised etrikes to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities and mental health issues (6 cases). They have directly involved the community in shaping their services.
