ECOREC (Ecological Recycling Society)

Oikologiki Etaireia Anakyklosis (or ECOREC, Ecological Recycling Society) is a Greek non-profit organisation whose main objective is the promotion of re-use, recycling and waste reduction, through educational programmes in schools, publications (books and quarterly magazines) and information/awareness-raising programmes and campaigns. The organisation is especially active in the public debate in Greece around waste prevention issues. In the course of the last few years ERS has developed initiatives on home-composting and launched awareness campaigns like the “Klimax Plus” project, which offers working opportunities to people with psychosocial disadvantages including ex-offenders, drug addicts and mentally ill individuals as well as the homeless, refugees and settlers.
