Located on an island between Finland and Sweden, Emmaus Åland is a group made up of volunteers, employees and people on work training, referred to the group by the local employment agency. The work enables them to remain active and acquire experience before finding a job. Emmaus Ålands workers carry out the usual work of Emmaus communities: collecting, sorting, repairing and selling goods at low prices. Emmaus Åland has three stores on the Åland Islands. The income from the second-hand sales are used to support projects run by among others the Emmaus groups, Cuna Nazareth in Peru, MARS in Togo and Oselya in Ukraine.
